Nike Straphand Pedometer

The Nike Straphand pedometer is a wonderful and ergonomic pedometer . When you take it while you're running or walking, it keeps track of all sorts of data for you, like step count, distance caculate and what your pace is.

Even better? This guy is a downloadable USB pedometer, allowing you to track your performance over time and compare your data with others from around the world. And if you're someone who needs motivation to get exercising, this could be just what you need.

Unfortunately, It appears to be in development now, so there's no price or release date information available as of yet.

Students step it up in pedometer contest

The Southern Medical Association, in conjunction with the Mississippi State Medical Association, sponsored a pedometer contest at Oak Grove Upper Elementary School.

The fourth-graders were provided material titled "Did You Know ... Go!" and were given pedometers to wear for two weeks.

"The kids did a great job," said Connie Derhgawen, local president of the Southern Medical Association.

"Kids want to please and this just proves they will get out and exercise if motivated," added Nancy Leader, vice president of Health Promotion for the Mississippi State Medical Association.
Ms. Posey's winning class received goody bags filled with activity-related gifts and a free karate class.

The winning class walked 1,888,265 steps over two weeks. The two top walkers - Vale Bridges, 96,183 steps, and Yesh Patel, 136,743 steps - each received a special game gift.
